Associate Director, December 2019 – Present​​

  • Support distance learning by designing Pre-AP slide decks and enforcing ADA and WCAG compliance of supplemental materials. 

  • Create and modify digital prototypes to successfully integrate multimedia into instructional materials through an Agile, iterative process.

  • Examine trends in higher ed course catalogs and develop survey questions to garner interest in a potential AP American Studies or Pre-AP Ethnic Studies course offerings. 

  • Work with a vendor, the production team, and the legal department to conduct an audit of image assets used across 53 publications.

Editor, English Language Arts, May 2019 – December 2019​

  • Served as the lead editor of the SpringBoard Grade 12 English Language Arts 2021 Texas Edition.

  • Supervised the production of alternative text for digital content and created internal ADA guidelines that are now used across various units within the organization. 

  • Collaborated with editors to create image specifications and oversaw the search, selection, and procurement of fine art, including the work of Jacob Lawrence, Kehinde Wiley, Frida Kahlo, and Mitch Epstein.

  • Onboarded freelance artists and incorporated commissioned artwork to accompany literary passages within grade 6-12 instructional materials. 

  • Formalized the tracking of image asset metadata and license agreements. 

  • Aligned SpringBoard content to Common Core and state standards to meet state-specific adoption requirements.

Assistant Editor, English Language Arts, February 2017 – May 2019​

  • Reviewed and edited student and teacher edition content in Adobe Acrobat, InCopy, and InDesign from the manuscript phase to the confirming stage.

  • Provided vendors and freelancers—including editors, copyeditors, assessment item writers— with direct feedback to ensure the quality of print and digital materials.

  • Oversaw the sourcing, selection, and approval of artwork for SpringBoard’s Florida Math high school editions and ELA core and ancillary materials (encompassing 12 publications).

  • Monitored the image budget and tracked payments to keep image permissions within (5% margin of error of projected) budget.
